Viva la ..
I checked on lumin website the iOS compatibility. I believe this was iOS 8 and up.

The reasoning behind is that I have an iPad mini with iOS 9.3.5 which is regularly crashing and shows always a spinning update icon in the album list. Or it takes forever.

To compare, my latest iOS iPhone can reload the library in minutes and does not keep showing the spinning update icon.

As per the above I think iOS 10 and up is better for the compability listing, and I post it here as I am curious if others see the same behavior on older devices.

P.S I use minimserver as server which is advised by lumin.

Yes, it should work for iOS 8.

Please turn off iOS system setting iCloud for Lumin app.

If that does not solve the crash, please assign different SSID (name) for the 2.4GHz and 5GHz band in the WiFi router. Connect your iPad mini to each of these bands individually, see if it helps.

If it still crashes, please go to iOS Privacy - Analytics, find the crash log of Lumin app and send it to [email protected]

First generation iPad Mini only has 512MB RAM. If your library is not fairly small, then the memory is not enough.

Hmm ok, after a reboot of the ipad that runs only Lumin app the spinning update icon has disappeared. So indeed 512MB rams seems to the limiting factor. I thnk here counts to have some patience with it. Thanks.

plonkywonki . how old is your iPad ? as that may also affect things ... i do not have the issues you have.

End '12, so ages, but as mentioned in 3rd page above, it is neither broken nor incompatible, it just takes forever to reload the library.

edit: Forever measured in minutes is 10-30min.

Reload Library does normally take a long time, but it should rarely be needed (other than first time setup), mostly for troubleshooting only.

Typically, after albums are added to MinimServer, a MinimServer Rescan is triggered (by Lumin app or Minim Watch) and completed, just Update Library in Lumin app, or kill the app and relaunch it.
