I have just ordered a Roon Nucleus + to work in conjunction with my T2. For those who have experience using a Roon Nucleus as the Roon Core with a Lumin streamer/DAC, are there any suggestions/warnings you might offer to ensure that I will be maximizing the benefit of the two units working in conjunction of each other?

Thanks!

Note that you need a separate 2.5" drive for the music in the Nucleus+ if your music is not already on a NAS or USB HDD. You can also ask Mike about LPS.
In Roon, enable Parallelize Sigma Delta Modulator if you want to try DSD512 upsampling.

On the Lumin T2, if you don't need AirPlay or Spotify Connect, please disable Lumin Streaming and Spotify Connect respectively.

If you are familiar with router settings, you may also reserve an IP address for the Lumin in router DHCP reservation table. This prevents Roon Core from getting confused when the router decides to change the IP address for Lumin.

Congrats! I added the Keces P8 Power Supply($650) to power my Roon Nucleus Plus and it did make a nice improvement in sound quality. Upgraded AC and DC power cords will give you even more.

Enjoy,

May I ask a few questions ?
What cpu do you guys pic ?
Ram in Roon matters as it uses it when it loads up. The entire library info is used
I have a 32tb library and 8 gig was not enough I needed to go up 16 g
according to Roon it needs a hard drive for is OS alone too. This means a second one for music.
They say it can be a spinning drive does this drive get filtered n what psu can handle this type setup ?
What is inside for the 19 volt dc conversion to the various needed voltages ?

The standard 8GB RAM configuration is meant for people who have a typical library size of less than 200k tracks on ROCK or Nucleus. With over 300k tracks you need to have 16GB RAM.

With your enormous library you need to have the fastest and highest spec desktop PC running Windows version of Roon.

What is your total track count in Roon?

I apologize for not making clear what my overriding question was regarding connectivity. Do I plug both the Nucleus and the Lumin T2 into separate ports on my Ethernet switch, or do I daisy chain them by connecting the Nucleus into the switch and then use a USB cable between one of the Nucleus' USB ports and the T2's USB port? If both are possible, is one superior to the other sonically?

Since Lumin T2 does not function as a USB DAC, you cannot connect the Nucleus and T2 together via USB.

You should connect both Nucleus and Lumin T2 to the Ethernet switch.
