Very good collection.
And a decent remastering job.

Fantastic album from the old master on vibes, also surprisingly nice on marimba here.
Add his fine personnel Kenny Garrett (as), Geri Allen (p), Christian McBride (b) and Al Foster (d), and you know you're in for a treat.
Highly recommended.

From the CD:

* Melissa's voice flows easily among the jazz rhythms of her band.

-> I believe she'll fit right in to Paul's taste. :)
And she'll sound superb over his loudspeakers; so is the entire band.

Do you like the trumpet? ...Do you like Jazz with verve? ...Do you like a good trumpeter, jazz music player?

...Then get this:

--

That's a trumpet man! ...And that's a trumpeter! ...And that's Jazz with a big touch of classy verve.

Jeff, I'm playing the Hi-Res files off my computer and it sounds great. This album will be in my vinyl collection so it'll be interesting to compare the two.

I've been putting a list together for my vinyl library and have a question. Which "Kind of Blue" pressing is better, the Columbia 180 gram from Legacy or the 180g 45RPM 2LP Limited Edition Box Set from Mobile Fidelity?

Overview of Charlie Parker's career.
Probably the best box on the market.
The remastering is very decent.

Have you tried the Sony SACD?
It is a VERY good remaster.

Both will sound excellent, but I would go for the 180g 45RPM set.

This sounds so good tonight. It's like Chet and friends are right there in the room with me! :audiophile:
