In for review at The Listening Chair with Howard Kneller is Adona’s GXT Black Widow rack ($5980 USD). It showed up in five boxes that collectively weigh hundreds of pounds. When I heard the UPS truck’s liftgate coming down in front of my house I knew something big had arrived.
Shown is a stock photo of the rack. The company states that its unique X-frame design provides exceptional strength while maintaining a clean, "open air" appearance. The company also states that the resistance to torsional flexing far exceeds that of most other frame designs and the massive cross-beams and columns are simply "pure overkill. This rack is intended for use reference audio systems and includes a massive 21x27 inch platform at the top level. The lower levels use the company’s standard 18x18 inch platforms and may be upgraded to larger.
