I'm really eyeing the AudioEngine D2 wireless DAC. Anyone here use or have used it?

I'm really interested in the AudioEngine D2 wireless DAC. If I read correctly it looks like an answer to my PC audio issues and more. It seems to be a multi-tasker. I only discovered it yesterday, but I think it's been out for 2 years now? Anyway, does anyone here use it or has anyone here used it? What are your thoughts on it? How's the sound quality? How's the performance?

Are you trying to get your PC audio to another system with no other infrastructure? This may work for you. It has the 1792 BB chip, so not too bad. It's adding another layer onto your 2.4ghz band via ad-hoc connectivity. So........ yeah.

Not sure what your PC audio issues are...

Well, for my desktop it's the issue of internal noise with everything checked and done to no effect. For laptop, tablet, Roku it's just plain bad sound even when connected to the system via cable. I also read that it does HiRez files and I have heard them before and am totally unimpressed. Part of the problem may be that I do not have the ability in anything to process them or something gets lost in the travel to the speakers would be more accurate perhaps. Then there's the wireless aspect, the less cables strewn across the room, the better. As for my CD player, it's super duper, no outboard dac needed. I'm also curious how it might effect the Squeezebox Touch (it has a very decent dac in it, but...)

Did you try the little cheapy USB soundcard from the other thread eons ago?

Haven't had the chance yet, but I have not doubt it would solve the desktop sound problem. Come to think of it I don't use my Roku for music (no need to) and I don't use my laptop as a source partially due to the inconvenience of it connecting cables across the room and I have the SB Touch anyway and all that. So upon reflection also seeing the I am missing nothing with HiRez files and that I don't need an outboard DAC for the CDP and such, the D2 would be a waste of money.:)
