I'm with Stephen Hawking, on this one. Humanity should not focus on AI research and development because it will outflank us exponentially resulting in our annihilation as a species or progressive AI augmentation will evolve us into something non human. Could happen this century.

10+ billion people by 2100. I don't think so. What event is next, I wonder.

Robots are doing a pretty good job in factories around the world, most likely some plan from a higher AI power. Rise of the machines: How robots are taking over all aspects of our lives - Mirror Online there is even a burger flipper . US firm Momentum Machines says its fast-food robot can churn out 360 burgers an hour (one every 10 seconds), slicing toppings and pickles then placing them on freshly ground burgers. Boss Alexandros Vardakostas claims they can replace human staff entirely.
