If you own the Ayre MX-R Twenty, are you using a tube preamp? ...

I know the KX-R Twenty is the natural companion, but I'm curious if your preference is tubes.

I absolutely love my KX-5/VX-5 Twenty combo and am thinking about experimenting.

The perfect "Summer Combination" is a quality tube preamp and a quality SS amp. For many it is the year round choice. Finding the right combination is the tricky part.

I've had an Audio Research Ref 3 with Ayre MX-R (non twenty) for about four years now and happy as a clam. ARC REF preamps and MX-R's were always the perfect match I found.
