If someone asked you to give them a random piece of advice, what would you say?

If you look for the good in others, the good in you is obvious.

It's better to receive an ass-chewing from a wise man than praise from a fool.

Yes! Live! Life's a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death! - Auntie Mame:

This time of year I inevitably read several graduation speeches, which are too often formulaic and cliche ridden.
Last week I read one with the simple theme: 'Be kind to people, every chance you get.' That's particularly good advice for us- if you're reading this board you're one of the worlds privileged few, and we have room to be gracious.
Something I started doing several years ago: Do a random act of kindness. It can be so simple, from holding the door for someone, giving a walker on the street a ride, to paying someones (in need) power bill or a semesters tuition. I have found that by looking for opportunities to provide this act of kindness it changed my view of the world and my place in it- powerful stuff! I am older than most of you and come from a background of competitive business, so you may not have as far to travel as I have to this epiphany, but it has been completely satisfying.
Give it a shot over the next week.

Competitive business and law can change a person's constitution and outlook on life. Seeking and understanding other perspectives can often be challenging for them.

Admit when you're wrong quickly and fully.

Be humble and honest.

Do what you say you're gonna do.

Ignore pettiness.

Dont curse.

Be compassionate.

Put yourself in the other guys shoes.

And most importantly, marry very carefully.

....and of course, buy PMC. : )
