I like how Jones, Plant and Page at various points are smiling and enjoying this rendition while you know inside their heads they are thinking, that's not how to do it, let's climb down from this balcony and show them how its really done. It was a nice cover - job well done by Heart and the expanded orchestra and choir.

I saw Heart live a few months ago at Ravinia in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park. The opening band was Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience and they were really good performers on their own. They received a standing ovation from the crowd and they were just the opening act. Then Heart played and were excellent in their own right, and for the final several selections in a jamming encore Jason and his band came back out and played with the Wilson sisters. Of course one of the selections was Stairway to Heaven, and it was truly amazing. They really rocked it out, and we were all surprised to see that they recruited singers from a Chicago gospel group for the chorus. A most enjoyable show! What makes it special is seeing the expression/reaction of R. Plant and cast. IMO, if it were just the audio, it would lose its impact.

I saw this about a year ago.

It is WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST performance of Stairway to Heaven EVER.


Does anyone know where I can get a CD or HI-REZ quality recording of this. The MP3 recording I got on iTunes is lousy.
