Been kicking myself for a long time for selling or giving away a few hundred albums after buying my first CD player in 1986. I did not have a TT again until a year and a half ago. I remembered that I gave a box to one of my brothers and while there the other night I asked if I could look thru his piles to see if I could find any of my old ones. I was able to identify about 40 of mine or my wife's records.

The cool thing is that because they mostly were not my brother's music likes, they have not been played or taken out of the cover since I gave them to him 35 years ago.

Looking forward to spinning these great old classics

Pink Floyd
Yes
Renaissance
Steeleye Span
Bowie
Mountain
Weather Report
Return to Forever

And lots more

Not much time, but so far I played the full Songs in the Key of Life and Weather Report.

Looking forward to the rest

That is awesome Brian... I wish I could get back all the albums I gave away back in the day. I know that could never happen though... Congratz to you on that one for sure!

Last night I played Tull-Too Old To Rock and Roll And actually heard it for the first time the way it was intended. The last time this album was played I had a much crappier system.

As I listed to the title track I started hearing an overlay of vocals I never heard before. I was also reading the album credits at the same time and realized Maddy Prior is singing along with Ian. I just love how she pops up on so many tracks.

So awesome! I wish I was so lucky. I gave away about 1500 albums 15-20 years ago because they took up too much room and vinyl was outdated and going away.....I thought! How dumb was that? Don't answer that! There were a couple wonderful direct to disk albums in that collection too. One was Herb Ellis, Barney Kessel and Charlie Byrd. Been wearing a "kick me" sign ever since. And I'll never get that collection back. Sniff, sniff. :(

im to old old old to rock an roll roll roll , but im too young too die, you've brought back some very old memories, my best friends band,, before he killed himself ,,

Very cool Brian, great story. Reminds me to play some in my collection I’ve overlooked for a decade or more. Here’s hoping they bring back good memories, not bad.

Congrats on getting your old records back. I gave my collection away at least 30 years ago. I probably deserve to be publicly humiliated for being a dumbass. (Oops, I just was.....lol)

It is so nice to read someone getting their old record collection back! It is always good as most of the time you have an even better audio system so you can listen again and find musical details that you might never have known to exist :)

Lots of great memories as well as hearing them like I never heard before since my system is way better than back then.

Enjoying memory lane

Great return Brian ! Now if you could only get your hearing back to where it was in the eighties !
