Hubble Just Took an Astonishingly Detailed Image of Saturn

What a cool planet! Definitely the coolest looking one. Looks like Earth using a hoola-hoop! They must be in great shape on that planet. Seriously though, one of the greatest planetary, celestial photos I've ever seen.

I think the picture with some of Saturn's moon circled indicates that this is a composite of three photos taken with three specific blue, green and red filters using the Wide Field Camera 3 (WCF3). Since Saturn is quite bright, particularly through the Hubble, the exposure time is probably very short.

Very nice - I have been watching Jupiter nightly with my spotting scope - the moons are very visible.

It makes me want to go and listen to Holst. At the end of Saturn there are some pedal tones going ME, RE, DO, (E,D,C in this case) and I think it's like 20, 18, 16 Hz. I have it on Telarc and the 20 Hz is audible, the others seem more feel-able to me, but they're there and they shake the china in the cabinets 30 feet around the corner in the kitchen..
