A deceased 'phile was my other thought, anyone with half a brain would have put these up on ebay. The stash of LSCs were all the same ser# which means it was a subscriber, he probably kicked off and the executor of estate dumped them at the first record store they stumbled into.

Hey Rob, what did you pick up? Last weekend, I picked up some NM- plum labeled Mercs from the local record store with FR-1/RFR-1 in the deadwax. It cost a pretty penny but as you say, a fraction of what's being asked online...
