Ah, I was going to get around to posting that too. Absolutely one of the best performances ever! It was good enough to bring tears of joy to Led Zep (especially Jimmy Paige)! That says something.
IMHO, Led Zeppelin was the greatest rock band of all times. I had tickets to see them live at Rich Stadium Buffalo NY in 1978, but the show was cancelled due to the death of Robert Plant's son. Two general admission tickets cost me $23 and change which of course was refunded. Alas Led Zep never did reschedule another concert.
I met two of the Doors members: Robbie Kreiger and Johnny Densmore. I ran into Robbie at a park over 12 years ago and we briefly spoke. I don't know how that happened or what he was doing there. I met Johnny and hung out with him for an hour about 6 years ago I think. He was a surprise guest for me at the radio station. Management surprised me with him not long before I was to leave. They knew I liked the Doors and arranged it. They did good too because I was in charge of guests and such as well and they slipped this one right by me catching me completely off guard. Unfortunately, so off guard that I did not have a camera to have a photo. Kind of embarrassing for me in a way as well because everyone was all over him asking for autographs and such and I just watched as I'm not a celeb hound. No, I did not get an autograph. For me it was more important just visiting and chatting.I agree, LZ is the biggest Rock&Roll band to ever live. ...Number two would be The Rolling Stones. ...Number three: The Doors.
