I was walking around using an analyser app on my iPhone and noticed a big bump at 125hz. This was in a quiet house — except the two damn Viking fridges that are always running.
Then when I was in my new music room installing recessed ceiling lights I heard it again, in one corner of the room. So I went on a mission with the iPhone app running. Upstairs, above my music room is our main family room with the flat panel TV sitting on a canbinet/console that houses the reciever, xfinity box, etc.
Turns out the Xfinity box is the culprit, just sitting there with its hard drives turning, it emits a little white noise but also this annoying 125 hz hum that seems resonates with the cabinet.
Any ideas how to isolate this device so I don't get the hum?
