I have a Nagra preamp and in the manual it says "The modulometer allows you to make sure you adjust the volume in a consistent manner with the source and the amplifier you are using".
But how to adjust it correctly? What I am doing is playing a 1Khz tone in the system and adjust Nagra preamp volume by keeping the needle of the modulometer in the position around -8dB. Is that the right way?
Would be appreciate if anyone can clarify on this.
