Most loudspeaker manufacturers specify efficiency expressed as number of db 1 watt/1 meter rather than as a percentage.

Hi Ralph,

Actually most speaker manufacturers don't specify efficiency whatsoever.
Sensitivity, is generally voltage, as in 2.83. Efficiency on the rare occasion, is usually expressed as percentage.

And to remain "nice", I best refrain from comment on your impedance/amplifier "brightness" "theory".
