Houston, We(I)Have a problem !! Seriously

Very true, master...

--------- Oh I just luv it!

As Bruce knows, I can listen to some not so well recorded music and still enjoy what I hear. I love the gear but I love the music more.

I do know this is true. I can do that when the mood is right and that is when the music is fun. Joe and I had a four hour listening session when I first got my Studio 2s and it was so enjoyable because we were listening to the music.

Mark...I'm a cook also....love to cook and have been doing it my whole life. I learned a lot from photographing some great chefs. Also took Macrobiotic cooking classes. This past year I've gotten back to being vegetarian and for the most part, I am vegan.

Not as much as I used to. But I keep pretty busy, play golf(5 hdcp), go Bass fishing , cook almost every night, and post here !! :peace:

Mark, and everyone else for that matter: When finding yourself listening more to your gear than the music, try playing some Classical music, Classical Chamber music, and in particular Solo Piano.
- Just try it, take your time, get engulfed, get accustomed, roll with it, the yin & yang, adapt.

...All that jazz? ;)

Bruce, I love veggies, but I could never give up meat, fish, chicken, etc. I've been doing it my whole life also, I grew up with an Italiana,my mother, who taught me a lot of what I know.

There is a line from Vincent (Tom Cruise) in the movie 'Collateral' that I really like.
...Inside the taxicab, addressing Max (Jamie Foxx).

"Now we gotta make the best of it, improvise, adapt to the environment,
Darwin, shit happens, I Ching, whatever man, we gotta roll with it."

Hey, cook here too! Been one for years. It started in high school (took a home cooking course)and then I just kept slowly growing in the culinary persuasion with practice practice practice. I also got to learn two very important aspects from some very special folks. Alton Brown taught me a good deal of technical aspects via videos and his shows and Jamie Oliver taught me how to cook from the heart via direct communication in email. (Nicest most passionate individual you'll ever know about). Now days I can cook stuff like Chicken cordon blue or Parmigiana and all kinds of "gourmet" things like that. I can tweak dishes to make them more healthy if needed without sacrificing taste or main ingredients or turn them into something kind of unique. Really anyone can do it with practice. All it takes is just getting into the kitchen and doing it. Read the recipe twice, gather ingredients, go slow and don't fear failing. Before you know it you'll be cooking at levels you would have never though you could.

I like those things also. I just feel better when I eat this way. I've been doing it on and off since my early twenties.

I grew up watching my Italian grandmother cook and learned from her.

It was a great time. I can't wait until my very own Studio2's show up Friday.

I wish I had paid more attention to my Aunt when she cooked while I was growing up. My Mom made some great food but my Aunt could make an awesome meal out of anything.

You will love the Studio 2's!

My wife and I always liked Jamie Oliver...He seems like someone we'd like to have as a friend....and his attitude towards food is great.

Indeed! He is all heart, truly. I was connected with him by his best mate Leigh Haggerwood. I chatted many more times with his best mate and also his band mates as well. You'll not meet a nicer lot. Jamie and I talked food and caring for others and Leigh and the rest of Jamie's mates and I talked caring and music and social causes. Jamie was getting very busy back then and he is ultra busy now days (not possible to get in touch with these days, but doing great things). His kids are amazing now, super smart and healthy and very aware. I almost had a chance to meet Jamie in person and it would have happened had it not been for a sudden change in plans for his schedule. (Jamie's best mate set it up knowing Jamie was coming to my area on a tour of sorts). I would have loved to have met Jamie and thanked him in person. I wish I could have seen his band play too, but it was not meant to be as they were just breaking up at the time. Not a bad break up, a sad one. They deeply cared for one another and had much love to give as well, but the world wasn't ready I guess. In talking to them I easily pictured spending at least an entire evening and day with them becoming friends, that's how friendly and gracious they are. They didn't want to break up, but the nature of the music biz and everyone's lives getting busier forced the issue. I was not left empty-handed though and have things to remember them by. I have not heard from any of them in years as everyone kind of went about their lives.

Mark I can relate to what your going thru, back when we used to talk about our 501's and Salon2's we discussed then about changing gear
or swapping out cables. Like you i changed all of my gear back in April this year, then started listening. my first response was that the wireworld cables
were not right so I demoed Straight wire cables for about 2months did a lot of listening trying too hard to find the instruments looking for that 3d sound
stage. then my dealer said something about Clarus cables, living with these in my system now again trying too find that magical place. I have forgot about
enjoying the music swapping out cd after cd leaning into the sound looking to hear what i havent heard before. Not til my wife finally told me she like what
I did to the system just the other night and ask what was the difference informed her i changed the Interconnect from the cd player to the pre amp. with a
Nordost Tyr cable. she actually sit down with me and we listen for 2 hours to music, yes i finally stopped and enjoyed the moment. Mark i hope you find that moment
where your enjoying the music again
Best
Kevin
