This is the second in a series of essays written for the National Recording Registry, addressing Hoodoo Man Blues, the great Junior Wells (and Buddy Guy) LP that was released in 1965. It is a significant record in several respects, and I was fortunate to get input from Bob Koester, the owner of Delmark Records (which released the album) and producer of the record. Nice essay, Bill. It's my understanding that Buddy and Junior had a long musical relationship. Their Blind Pig/Ripple Records vinyl release of "Drinkin' TNT 'N' Smokin' Dynamite" is a great album, also. When I played that album at Lonestar Audio Fest, people were asking me who that was.
