My brother showed me this and has it hooked up. His insurance company provided it free of charge. It’ll help detect shorts and other issues.

Anyone have any thoughts? I’m thinking about trying it. To purchase it outright is $350.

I would feel more comfortable knowing if anything is possibly going wrong but I also don’t want a false of security.

Seems like a good thing to have. I don't think you'd have a false sense of security as electrical is only one of many areas to cause fire.
