Some days on a peaceful bike ride in the sunshine state you never know whom you will run into. The last pic was in the everglades bike trail. Interesting and to many darn misquotes.

I can deal with gators, but the bears, well its , stop be darn quiet, back up slowly and let them roam away in peace. We waited for 25 mins for the bears to leave the trail.

Great pics!

I would think it would be the other way around, bears ok, gators :|, but I guess it depends on the gator and the bear. In Shenandoah Natl. Park, about 2 hours west of DC, Skyline Dr. runs through the middle of the park. It's a popular cycling route. Bears are sighted all the time up there, but they are more like Yogi than Grizzly. Not sure how I would react to seeing a gator on a bike ride.

I'd rather run into neither.

I remember my last trip to Kenai National Park 8 years ago to go fishing, we walked around , saying Hey Bear,Hey Bear HEY BEAR all day long. OF course up there the bears look at people camping as

Did a 10-day solo backpack on the North Boundary Trail in Jasper National Park last summer. Many grizzlies there. Bear bells and bear spray were always on my side. All food hung high in trees. Luckily no close encounters but evidence of them everywhere. They demand your respect because you're in their habitat.

Best,
Ken
