Hmm, Ortofon high-priced cart not really moving me.

I now have about 32+ hours on my Ortofon 2M Bronze and I have to say that for the price of the thing it leaves me somewhat underwhelmed. It's a decent cart, don't get me wrong, but it does not perform even near it's price point to me. I feel I way overspent for it. To me it doesn't rate over $200. When it comes time to replace (which will be quite a while from now), I think I'd do better with a 2M Blue or something in that range. (Although, I wonder if the 2M Blue would perform at it's price or be underwhelming like the Bronze)?
Of course this is all according to my ears, so it is entirely subjective I think.

sorry to hear that eric. i am a big fan of ortofon carts and the ones i have heard perform real well for the money. but i have not heard any of the 2m series carts , so i wouldnt know.
i know doug really like the 2m red he bought for his son. said its a nice cart for not much money.

Yes, nothing wrong with the build of the 2M carts were stability is concerned. The Bronze just does not perform like a $400 cart, it's closer to a $200 cart. I may try the 2M Blue next time because it may perform better than the Bronze in terms of performance for money and diminishing returns.
