In the rock, pop rock category, anything Pink Floyd, Led Zep and Dire Straits makes it for me. the following, for me, are must haves in one's collection:
Of course, many others not mentioned but if one is thinking of building a music library, these are but a few that ought to be a part of that collection. Will come back with some must have jazz selections later.
this is my #1 go to album for equipment and sound tests, and cartridge setting tests. recorded around 1 microphone in a church. this is the last album i listened to before packing up my amps and shipping them out. and the first i will listen to when the new amps are hooked up and warmed up. this is thanks to Doug(dbl2) who sent it to me sealed since 1988!!
another of my all time favorites, i sent a bunch of copies around awhile ago. im not sure everyone liked it as much as i did, i kept the original recording sealed copy for myself.lol.

back in the day she was the hot young singer and everyone wanted to play with her(musically,lol)so on that record there are a number of famous people including dr john, ry cooder, freebo, david grisman, and a bunch of others. then it seemed she swung towards gospely stuff and she never gained the popularity everyone expected her to .Ah, love this album! I saw her live, many years ago, at a small venue on 5th or 6th street, in Austin. I was so looking forward to hear her, unfortunately, that night her voice was off.
I do not know why I can't get the picture post function to work. I will just list a few of my faves.
Hans Theessink has many albums. I find a lot of them boring and repetitious. But two stand out IMO: Call Me and Slow Train.
Beth Hart with Joe Bonamassa: Don't Explain
A collection of old standards with one new composition from Melody Gardot included.
Joe Bonamassa: An Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera House This is also available as a DVD of the performance. I saw it on PBS and thoroughly enjoyed it and I generally do not like to watch recorded concerts. Very high energy for an acoustic performance. I think the percussionist grew up too poor to own a drum kit. He made his own percussion instruments like a two-year old.

Oh yes Andre, plenty of sleep.
Andre, if I'm more active here @ the Shark aquarium it's because all the members are all very nice people, that's all there is to it;
simplicity in itself, with all the friendliness and peaceeace: and :heart: one can wish for.
...Anything and everything else is just cheap whiskey, and all that jazz.
Live and let live.

Me I recommend all the music recordings under the music record labels like: ECM, Channel Classics, Reference Recordings, AudioQuest Music, Analogue Productions Originals, JVC XRCD, ...just to name a few of my favorites.
There are simply too many music titles that I truly love and encompassing several music genres (Classical, Jazz, Blues, World, ...) for me to enumerate here.
And my signature is only one of my favorite music sources. ... Audiophile Audition.
