How often do you hear a hi-res file compared to red-book or less quality & think that is good & look to see if you are right? As in the read-out on front of dac.....

This has got me wondering as I too do this & I seem to be reading more & more in articles with the writer saying it's not possible or it won't make a difference etc. with the sample being hi-res. I sometimes wonder if they are seriously deaf.

They could be just listening to upsampled RBCD.
