Hey guys. One area of my vinyl library that is woefully and sadly underrepresented is Hendrix. I know a lot of the reissues that came out recently did not receive very good marks for sound quality, so any recos for specific well recorded good sounding albums. So looking for specific issues/versions not which albums you like musically, because I generally like all his music, but rather which versions of his various albums sound good and were transferred to vinyl properly?

Thanks for the recos in advance

Original pressings except the third album if I recall.

Acoustic Sounds had a set at around $500 per album. I had my name on them but let them go to someone else.

Thanks Steve. Keep 'em coming guys

Thx

Nothing audiophile quality, but IN THE WEST is a fairly well recorded live album. I prefer it to the recent live/MIAMI LP set from last year. Also the Band of Gypsy's LP sounds quite good. Musically, I love his 2nd album, and Electric Ladyland. I would search for early Reprise brown label, or I believe even earlier pressings have a lighter shade with yellow striping.

Though I have no other lps to compare them to (only a greatest hits cd) , I quite enjoy the recent Sony Legacy AAA reissues of Electric ladyland and Are You Experienced?. Far better than the cd.

There was a purple box set that came out years ago which sounds damn good. And yes, Electric Ladyland is the bomb.

Cool guys. I'll look into all these suggestions.
