I have a D2 and while I don't (as of yet) have another DAC to compare it to, I can say that it is a very nice sounding DAC. Certainly worth your time to consider.

Mytek HiFi Brooklyn DAC+

I never thought I would use MQA, as much as I hate proprietary formats, I'm enjoying Tidal a great deal. The DAC will surprise you, well designed ESS 9028 DAC, not overly bright.
