Hi all.

I'm a new member from Hampshire in the UK. I have been into hi-fi and audio for quite a few years, but have a particular interest in FM tuners. This is all thanks to my step-dad who got me into DXing in the 1980s. I love having a tune around when there are unusual conditions as you never know what you might hear next.

Currently my system consists of a JVC AX-Z1010TN integrated amp, a Tascam CD-RW900 MkII CD recorder, a Squeezebox Touch, and Denon TU-800L/Kenwood L-1000T/Yamaha T-2/Sony XDR-F1HD tuners all hooked up to KEF LS50 speakers. The Kenwood tuner in particular is a top performer.

I am also on the lookout for a classic 'vintage' CD player to complete the system.

Regards,
Nick

Hi Nick,

Welcome to the forum :hey:. Glad to see you're enjoying your audio. If you're looking for an awesome vintage cdp, keeping the JVC theme I recommend looking for a good 2nd hand Reimyo CDP-777. If I was on more of a budget, I would be very happy to own one also. I did own a JVC XL-Z1050 for 18 years & it never skipped a beat...a very smooth, enjoyable player with a good transport, k2 processor & very good build quality.

Cheers,
David.

Thanks David. A Reimyo would be waaay out of my price range, but I do like the idea of trying a JVC XL-Z1010TN, which is the matching CD player for my amp. A Marantz CD-94 MkII/CD-95 are also very tempting but pricey.
