Greetings :hey:all, joined a while ago now, kept actively lurking, thought to start actively and see where I could contribute.
I'm a qualified electrician, specialising in high voltage (MW) inverters, power quality, instrumentation systems and passionate about applying some of the skills at the other end, to audio AC power!
I tend to use subjective skills for listening and dig deeper if I can by probing into why is it so? Computer skills including networking are average +, file based digital audio in the regular mix of listening to SACD/CD/FM/SW Radio. Digital audio is great, but there's always room for improvements, and the small stuff lurking in the background is difficult to corral and keep under control. It is a very challenging topic.
My audio listening started off with a Dual 701, Marantz Japan & USA made amps in the mid 70's after been wowed by a family friend's setup, which I wanted to have as well! These days, electronics are Accuphase, KEF reference 205-2 with the digital source under constant review. There's great success with re-clocking S/PDIF AES3/S/PDIF, this nearly ancient transmission is blessed with an easy fix.
Anyway, look forward to many a post at AudioShark
