Heads Up: Check your Cables

Heads up - Consider checking your USB cables for your electronic devices). I just found that many of mine — USB-A and USB-C — were old, original-spec (often white-insert) cables, meaning USB 2.0 limits and low current. USB-C is just a connector, not a performance guarantee. Marginal cables (many of which are included with the devices you buy) can cause slow charging, instability, even dropouts. Before blaming the DAC or streamer, check the cable — it’s a cheap, (and measurable) fix.
(Btw, just ordered several Thunderbolt high watt cables; my electronics (phone, computers) now charge and run faster.
PS. Don’t expect an improvement in sound quality, It simply ensures your gear operates as designed.

The bad news is my wife finds some way to destroy all our iPhone/iPad type cables. It's almost super-human her ability.

Good news: I keep having to buy new ones to replace them so they are always current spec.
