Ahhh...vacation time once again. Luckily I work from home on Fridays so I can get things together and packed in order to head out about 4pm. We are lucky to have good friends that live on Ocean Ave in Spring Lake. They call this town the Irish Riviera. Not many homes within 4 blocks of the beach under a million.
Unfortunately, this may be our last week in SL as our friends have the place up for sale, for a measly 3.5 mill and they bought a house on the Manesquan River with their own personal dock and boat lift. So next year instead of being a Beach Bum, I will become a River Rat
Anyway, althought they have the whole house wired with a Novu setup and reasonable in ceiling speakers, I always miss my sound and HT. I will fill their house with my music, which they love. I am tasked with always keeping the music going when there.
Spring Lake has lost it's entire Boardwalk 2x in the last 2 years as well as the surrounding beach towns like Sea Girt, Point Pleasant, and just north in Belmar where they were completely devastated and flooded out by Sandy, and Irene. Not a whole lot to do there, no bars or clubs and nothing Honky Tonk, which is what makes it so nice.
We will in-line skate every morning early weather permitting, hang on the beach and walk the boards. Plenty of good food, wine and beers to be had for sure. I will have net access but posting very sparsely for the next week.
Cheers and enjoy your 4th holiday if you celebrate it where you are.
This is what it looked like in the fall during the cleanup. We stay just to the left but the house is not shown.
