I had a employee who had extensive experience managing local and regional bands around Portland Oregon and the Pacific NW. He had a good friend who had worked for Billboard for a number of years. That guy was very good friends with the members of ZZ Top. When the band came to Portland he set up a river cruise on the Columbia River. I got invited to join them for the cruise. I lived 25 miles west of Portland. On my way to meet the band and go sailing my car overheated. I pulled over and thought I could let it cool off. I started again and it immediately boil over. It was a diesel motor and the head gasket have blown. Needless to say I did not make the meeting or cruise. I hope that sad story didn't devastate you like it did me at the time

Thanks Mike, indeed a devastating story. Sorry to hear it did not work out.

I have never been to a cruise with them, but saw the guys once in concert somewhere in northern Europe.
