Harbeth M40.1 are home !

So Jerome when you going to sell your W/P 8 ? ;)

Paul, to answer your question : opposite to women, speakers are not jealous. I can live with one pair during 6 months and switch to the other pair for the other 6 months.
We have been sentenced to live with only one woman at a time. But we are free to have as many speakers as we want. So I am just using my right ! :D

I'm so happy for you Jerome. Their each line up has a pros and cons.

C7ES3 - This is small(?) book shelf speakers that has sweet mid with lot of box howling sounds. If you don't care about the High and Bass this is the speakers you can have a full favor of Harbeth sounds.

SHL5- Add a Super tweeter and bigger woofer. - To be honest with you . I think this is sweet spot for Harbeth line and I am very thinking hard to re-purchase this again.

M40.1 - Full range with whooping 12" driver you will gain lot of bass but missing some of mid compare to smaller models.Hey but this is best as you can get :)

P3ESR - Sweetest monitor . Excellent for small room or your bedroom.

Of cause YMMV

You are tempting me now with the SHL5 !! There is a pair for sale not too far from my place....

That's hilarious! The Lady's probably going to read this tomorrow. :roflmao:

The 40.1 help me big time to entertain me and think about something else. Their sound is both ultra natural and ultra resolved. I am rediscovering all my recordings.
They are a joy to listen to.
Paul, I wonder what you were looking for when you sold them. They are just M A R V E L L O U S.
Now listening to Joni Mitchell 's Blue, and she is with me in the room. The guitars are incredibly realist.
The sound of the Harbeths is the one of authenticity.
Pure pure bliss.
They are fast and full weighted at the same time. Transparent and detailed. Warm and neutral. Intimate and huge. *They seem to take all the paradoxes of audio and melt them in a magic coktail. And I'm drinking without limits.
I felt in love....again !
Oh my G., what a wonderful hobby !

Those are among the very very best speakers I ever heard.
At their list price, an absolute bargain. More a gift than a bargain indeed.

Hay Jérôme, nice to see you've discovered another great sounding pair of speakers that you are rapt with, good stuff. :woot::woot::woot:

I wasn't thinking I guess. Dang ~! After owned 4 different Harbeth's I was thinking to get something else and I thought I had enough of them so I pulled the trigger on PMC IB2i speakers. Hey they are very looked alike and sweet mid range too however it took me two months to realize that PMC can NOT replace the Harbeth and I think NONE of them will do. The Harbeth is Harbeth. Some said its lazy and laid back in-terms of signature of Harbeth sounds.

I miss them every day and will purchase either SHL5 or M40.1 again. However I will get the Rose Wood this time though :)

M40.1 Lazy ????
Those are the most lifelike speakers I ever heard !

Some don't get it you know ? Also When you hear the C7 with Tube I kind of agree that comment but M40.1 was different animal.

Anyway I liked the C7 as well. When you play 60's Jazz trio on C7 ? oh boy you can listen to them all day all night. ~! ♬

Paul, the Rosewood is very nice. What about these? :exciting:

The Ebony is very good too. :D

Rosewood all the way!

Group buy? :exciting:

I'm in all the way~!

The Harbeth : Please don't judge a book by its cover also If you have an audition for 30 min ? You haven't listen to them yet. You do have to bring your album's and sit tight for at least more than an hour. :)
