Gutwire 'Grounding Cables' on Lumin A1 Kenneth Lau PSU

For those interested....After reading the new review on '6 Moons' a week or so ago i bought their entry level grounding cable and hooked it up to my Kenneth Lau PSU and the results are as advertised in the review...much to my surprise....I also tried it on the Lumin player itself and it improved the sound but not to the extent that it did on the PSU...Sound is much cleaner with better dynamics and blacker background..I do have a totally dedicated 20a circuit also..The entry level is not expensive..~ $350 with the upper level about $100 more..I do intend on buying the top level, which for the small increase in price will make any improvement worth it..
 
I looked at their website and the review. Can you give a little more detail on how it hooks up (e.g. does the spade hook to the power cord ground at the receptacle and then the plug end go into another outlet or does the spade hook to the earth ground screw on the power supply)? I have my Revelation Cat8+ cables coming tomorrow (I have the ethernet outlet coming from the NAS another room and going into a passive switch with another cable going to the Lumin) and use a Lumin U1 and have a 20 amp power conditioner in a 20 amp circuit and the Lumin is plugged into the conditioner. Thanks.
 
Phil.. my ground cable has a spade end that hooks to the 'earth ground' on the rear of the PSU and then just plugs into the wall outlet.
 
The 6moons page has photos of the wires, plugged into RCA connectors that are mounted with plastic insulator rings, that's a bad idea. It may act as an interference antenna or may create a ground loop.

Thanks - is the plug from the Gutwire then plugged into a different receptacle/circuit from the components?
 
In the US type power system, a receptacle or even a circuit is sometimes mis-wired. With the Neutral and Safety Ground swapped, the is known as a bootleg ground and a 3 LED tester won't indicate a problem. So there could be 3 Volts difference between the component chassis and another circuit's Safety Ground.

For a hi-fi component with a 3 wire power cord, connecting to it's wall outlet Safety Ground is redundant. What you want to connect too is the chassis of your other hi-fi components.
 
I've heard of building an RCA cable with just the ground connected and then connecting it to an a jack that is not used on your preamp and then to another component. I make many of my own cables. Building something like the Gutwire is not terribly difficult. Might be something to consider down the road as a project for fun. Just curious as this is the first I've heard of the product.
 
Speedometer.. I will assure you that my system/circuit IS wired correctly. I will connect it as the manufacturer suggests. It sounds great as is.
 
I have all my gear grounded to the bus on the Shunyata v3 Triton. I made the ground cables with old 10 gauge speaker wire, and spades. It does help reduce background noise even more. I have three 20 amp circuits (source, amp, amp) and all gear, even amps, grounds to the Triton v3 (source). Now that I have a Denali 2000 on each amp, I am thinking of moving the ground of each amp to its respective Denali, as they also have a ground bus.
 
That was a general statement not aimed at any particulate person. When Audion Precision (the test equipment company) had their new facility build, they later discovered many mis-wired receptacles.

I'm sure it does and I appreciate all posts. It is always a learning opportunity which is always good no matter what conclusion someone reaches (and believe me I've learned a lot from just my own independent mistakes).

I had lightning damage four months ago (my house is only 4 years old) and they (the electricians) tested things thoroughly so I could have less of a pain (it was almost a total pain as it was) of dealing with the insurance company. I have all the two channel stuff going into my Torus RM-20 power conditioner plugged into its own 20 amp circuit (and it did shut down with the surge and did its job). I have not looked at the back of the RM20 in a bit (it is a real pain to get to the back or my rack) but I believe (from memory) it has a grounding screw. Just curious as to connecting the grounding screws on the Torus and Lumin power supply would do vs. something like the Gutwire.

The problem I have with it (and that's why I'm asking here) is that it would be nice if they included a link to an owner's manual or had something other than the pictures on their site which explains what it does and why it does it.
