Phillip did a fine job showing off some fine audiophile music. The mono remasters and his account on developing them was very interesting and informative. Since it was mono what they were able to capture was this incredible sense of depth on the recordings. Other highlights for me was the Santana Abraxas tracks. Lou Reedˋs Walk on the Wild Side was incredible with sounds I had never discerned before on such a familiar tune. The Gryphon Colosseum amp and Vivids were spectacular in handling the material. Last tune played was Led Zepps Whole lotta Love at a dB level which an ordinary system would have gotten smoked. The bass excursion of the Giya woofers was extraordinary to observe....made me think of Edgar Allan Poe´s Telltale Heart.
Great fun on one of Florida’s rare dreary days!
