Last year at Axpona Chicago I heard the Graham LS3/5’s , the LS5/9’s and the LS5/8’s. I was hoping the LS5/9’s would impress since they would fit my small soundroom perfectly. Turns out the LS3/5’s and the LS5/8’s were great. The LS5/9’s not so much. This year David Michael Audio brought the Graham LS3/5’s, LS3/5A’s and the LS5/8’s to the show. The smaller transducers were static-ly displayed. Once again the LS5/8’s were wonderful (W/Nagra-top notch), unfortunately too big for my room. I heard some grumblings that last year’s LS5/9’s were not fully broken in. This may account for their poor showing. Does anyone out there own the LS5/9’s ? And like them ? I am hoping to get some positive feedback. I could then put them back on the “possibility” list.

We've reviewed LS5/9 last year and in our both rooms (21 and 38 sq. meters) they offered a lot of musicality. Of course main accent was put on midrange so the treble and bass were a little laid back, but the pleasure of listening was just superb.

Thank you Marcin for your input. I am most of all a “midrange guy”. I tried to read your review, but I cannot read Polish. Any chance of getting an english translation ? If the LS5/9’s are 80% as good as the LS5/8’s I would be more than satisfied.
