Yea Jeff !! Great cartridge. I had one a few years back and accidentally had the cantilever snap off.
It was a very sad day. Traded it for a demo statement. Another great cartridge.
I prefered both to the CA maestro I had. But I didn't have the v2.

Looking forward in getting some hours on the Ref-1......the V2 is a nice step up from the previous two Maestro models with the Santine wood body and Satine wood body with the metal top insert.
Hey Jeff I was just wondering how the reference is going ?? As I mentioned above I had grado reference and statement and the original maestro. And I've always had a thing for the great value in the top shelf mm cartridges. I was wondering if you prefered the ref or maestro v2 now that you've been listening for awhile??

My Ref 1 is the low output model .5mV......I favor the ref 1 over the maestro v2 a smidge, most likely due to the moving coil side of things.
Interesting thanks. I of course prefered the statement, but I think the reference was so close that if I went with mm again(and I'm sure I will) I would choose the reference. Cause the statement was twice the price but not near twice as good.
And I didn't care for the maestro. But as you said I had the original version and I never heard the v2's.
