A couple of days ago i went with a friend to listen to Zellaton Klassik Stage speakers (blow my mind but that's a different story).
The owner used MSB Premiers DAC with the streaming module as the source. what was familiar to me was the same filling I got in Munich on most or all the rooms that used MSB DAC as their source.

Long story short i just got myself a new MSB Premier DAC from the local distributor.
for the time being, i'm using his machine (black) till my silver unit that had been ordered will arrive

regarding sound, its better than my Melco NZ and Luxman D10X combo, in a couple of things - the stage is bigger, the mids are clearer and the whole dame thing is just so much closer to analog.

is it worth the price for the minor differences, hell yeah! - The easiest way to put it is: It's just more engaging to listen to.

I think Jeff Fritz sums it all up in his premier review from 2021 - "The Premier is a super-high-resolution, completely silent, utterly dynamic component that lets the music flow through it less hindered than through anything else I’ve heard. In terms of sound quality, it’s the best digital front end I’ve had in my system."

Thank you so much Mike.

i don't know if you remember but i was the one who asked you somewhere (either in this forum or in youtube) about the difference in sound between the D10X and the MSB.

I would like to take advantage and ask; how do you configure your MSB gain (High, or Low)when using the Luxman C900u pre amplifier?, I set it on low.

appreciate if you can share with me this information

Thanks again for the words and advice.

To my ears, low sounds better.

Wonderful system from front to back. Curious if the amps are the M-900U or M-10X?

Enjoy!

Thank you for your words.
Those are M900u Amp, M10x has not been introduced in Israel yet due to demand in the state and Japan and supply issues.
The first M10x shipment is supposed to get here by end of 2022.

I spent an hour with a fully optioned MSB Select II but it didn't really float my boat in the installation I heard it in. I bought Esoteric Grandioso D1X instead, which I haven't heard yet. At this end of the performance spectrum so many influential factors come into play you really need to get everything right otherwise that one weak link will let the whole team down.

I find this a bizarre post on a thread started by someone who just purchased an MSB Premier DAC. You listened to an MSB Select II for an hour in a system that's not yours and it didn't float your boat. First of all, that is not the DAC that is being discussed in this thread and what validity do your comments have with spending an hour listening to the MSB Select II in a system that's not yours in a thread where someone just bought an MSB Premier? And then you turn around and talk about a DAC that you just bought and you haven't heard yet. I hope your boat doesn't sink after your new DAC arrives.

You completely missed the point. To get to the point, you can get an outstanding result without having to go to the extreme of the flagship DAC if the whole of your music ecosystem works in harmony with the constituent parts. Or putting it another way, the flagship DAC doesn't automatically achieve the best result simply because it is the flagship.
