I might be biased having owned a pair, but my favorite stand mounts even today are the rare Marten Coltrane Alto's ($24kUS in 2004). The Alto's were large, 3-way stand mounts which offered true full range sound (24Hz-40kHz). They were internally wired with Jorma No.1 cable incl: Bybee Quantum purifiers, used top notch mundorf x-over components & could be bi-amped/bi-wired like all Coltranes. Their carbon/kevlar monocoque cabinet was made in the same way as a formula one tub (similar to the Magico M6). According to Leif their production life was cut short primarily due to the fact they were too complex and expensive to produce, and Marten were actually losing money on them. Also the design was not very popular with customers. That last reason I can't understand as I think they're gorgeous! Maybe they were just ahead of their time back in 2004? :doubtful:.

The best stand mounts I ever heard was the Gryphon Mojo S. It's a big stand mount that sounds like a floor stander.

Some gorgeous monitors. Would the posters who didn't identify the make and model of the photos they posted kindly edit their posts to do so? Some of them were so beautiful I'm interested in pursuing them. Thanks in advance.

Another stand mount/bookshelf speaker which deserves a mention...

These are what Hans Ole Vitus uses in his desktop system at the office..vintage Infinity Infinitesimal Modulus bookshelfs. They use proven Emit K tweeters & had an optional sub which can be hard to find now..

But if I had a blank cheque book, carte blanche the stand mounts I'd go home with would be the Wilson Benesch Endeavour. Build quality par excellence..

On a budget, these Ascend Acoustics Sierra 2 bookshelfs offer stonking good sound for the money & won a PF Writer's Choice award in 2016.
