Goodbye Jay Z? Hello Apple?

Very Interesting. He will be one wealthy man if Apple buys him out. They must consider Tidal a threat.

Not a threat, they want the artists and exclusives, it would give them the complete advantage over spotify. Expect them to kill tidal completly and continue on their closed, crappy quality streaming ways.

Apple's big brother control will kill streaming if they get half a chance. Quality will go down the tubes in favor of marketing, low quality BS... The Apple way :)...

I hold a different view. If there is a market for high quality streaming and audiophiles are willing to pay twice as much, I think that Apple will gladly take our money. The infrastructure is already in place to stream Redbook quality CD's. If there is demand from the $20 per month customer vs. the $10 per month of the mass market customer, I think they will keep it in place.

I suppose one argument against this view is how many of us are there? Tidal is already embedded into Lumin, Aurender and other music servers. But I have no idea how many of the 5 million paid subscribers of Tidal are paying for high quality streaming.

45% of Tidal's customers are paying for the Premium Service. It's a bargain.

Recently, I read that Apple may be thinking of getting into the hi-rez market. If that proves true, then Tidal would be the perfect vehicle to build into a niche. Of course such rumors have been rampant for years so take it with a big grain of salt.

Don't forget that TIDAL is MQA ready & compatible, but license belongs to Meridian, and if Apple take Tidal nobody knows what will be with this technology.
