I'm looking for the thread I think Jock started awhile ago about high efficiency speakers but I couldn't find it.
I'm looking to get a pair of set's in the future , I really like the manley 300b neo classics. I know they can run the veneres on 24w push pull mode but the 11w set mode I would need something else.
Would 95db sensitivity like the wave 40's run 11w? Or would I need like 96 or 97db. I'd probably be keeping my snappers so I wouldn't use much of the push pull setting. Or maybe even go the 8w Sophia electric route. I know the Devore 096 would work but I'm not sure the style is for me. I also know the klipsch cornwalls and others in the family.
But I'm looking for a few other ideas.
Thanks for any help!!

Professor. Oh I didn't think of that, searching for his new threads!! Thanks Bob!!

Steve

I think the Waves would be great. I'm trying to think about what else would be good too.

Hi Joe :hi: thanks I'd like to find a nice list to research. The wave 40's are sweet but a little pricey for me. Unless Bob knocks one over and I get em as a damaged demo. Lmao. !!

:)

I'm sure someone might bump into one when the lights are low. I am still amazed at how good the Waves sounded. I'm sure there are others we can find.

Steve

Maybe you and I should talk to Bob about Avantgarde Duos. I believe they would be awesome.

"Aye, GRINGO! We got no stinkin budgeeet... " Someone always has to be sensible....:)

I just threw one of the Waves out the window, I will go down and pick it up and glue it back together. I can knock off an additional 1.5%....is that a good deal?:woot:

That's funny Kev.

Good choices Paul.
I agree on both quotes. I like the wood on those meadowlarks is gorgeous.
Thanks guys I need to do some research.
My budget isn't set but I'm not with the in crowd around hear. I don't
Like to spend a lot on speakers and amps. Lol!! My new round of upgrades is pretty much around the turntable/ cartridge and phono pre.

Oh Yeah.....

BTW, I am sitting here waiting for Norman/Wisnon to show up! Should be fun playing Norman's DSD files through the Dac2x. I have the Ongaku driving the Waves for us to play.
