Anyone try Magico with McIntosh?
And you thought........
What about Martin Logan, YG acoutics, Proac, Dynaudio? Which amp/preamp brands match well with them?
Also add Bryston-PMC, Vivid-Luxman, Rockport-Gryphon
Soulution/YG works for me
Pass (XA series) and Hegel/Vivid
Hegel and Classe/Revel
Too bad the Hegel got the rep for catching fire ...
Look in the Hegel thread about ten slots down. And ask Mike ... My own H30 gave me years of reliable service but developed some sort of issue after I traded it that involved constantly blowing fuses -- as the dealer I traded it to didn't test it before selling it along I don't know if the problem was occasioned by a transit incident, something the new owner did wrong, or bad luck.Catching fire? I never heard that before. Revel always shown with Mark Levinson gears at audio shows. Some people use pass labs with revel. First word comes to mind when talking abt Pass labs is versatility. It works great with so many speaker brands

I've heard good things about the higher powered class AB Pass with Revel. In my experience with the hard-to-drive Salon2's the 350W Hegel H30 and 600W Classe sounded great, particularly in large rooms. Soulution 501, at only 120W, didn't seem to have enough oomph with the Salons in a large room but did fine in a smaller space. ML and Revel both owned by Harmon -- haven't heard the combo. Just pointing out what I personally found to be perfectly enjoyable pairings that I would recommend anyone to audition. However, digging deeper, most speaker companies have a range of speakers with different demands on amplifiers and, often, vice versa ...
