Just an FYI. My friend of many years has become the Gobels distributor in North America as well as a dealer for CH Precision. We haven't yet set up the speaker, The Epoque Fine, but from my knowledge the first one here in the USA, but from the picture you can see where we dropped them for the time being. They were schlepped up to my listening room, very heavy and beautifully made. There method of packaging should be a lesson for all manufacturers. A travel case perfectly made for the speaker, where the bottom comes off, you stand up the box and remove both sides and sliders placed under the 4 corners for placement until final location is found.

In any case I am fortunate to be Elliot's burner inner until his studio is opened in Davie. My Nola Concert Grands are taking a vacation while I engage of the "arduous task" of burning them in for him before Axpona. The CH Precison M1 is mine as is the MSB Select II and am currently using all Gobel cables, which I can say, are fantastic and have replaced all my Nordost.

Looking forward to the adventure and the privilege of being the first here in the USA to listen to these.

Thanks for posting and I’d be interested to hear your impression. Nice room, btw.

Thanks. The room is actually in some transition. New incoming rack for the MSB SELECT and new stand for the CH M1

Will definitely update with thoughts and findings. Hopefully tomorrow will get them set up. Just letting them play nonstop with an “occasional” listen.

Upper harmonics and speed is truly spectacular even at this early barely setup stage. Still lots of work to do.

Heard them in Munich and liked the sound quite a bit. You’ll need good electronics to drive them.

Yes I know. I am using CH Precision M1 stereo amp. My front end is an MSB Select II direct into the CH Precision. Two things about the CH Precision that make it such a good match is that it has "global feedback" ensuring proper balance in one's room and second is that it has adjustable gain so that I can match it perfectly with the MSB front end.

My comparison are the NOLA Concert Grand which are now on the side of the room, which actually worked amazingly well with the CH Precision M1 despite Carl Marchisotto's (designer and owner of NOLA) desire for tubes and "sounding" his speaker to tubes. Quite frankly, I never heard my NOLA Concert Grands sound so good.

Interestingly I "gave up" on solid state long ago, dabbled back into them when looking for a second system, when I purchased the Magico Q1 and Constellation Centaur Stereo amp. I tried everything known to man to get them to sound good, tried the Centaur on my Nola Baby Grands (which I owned back then), tried my REF250s on the Q1s and realized, that the then raved about Centaur and the raved about Q1 just weren't for me and sold it all. I felt that if the Centaur was as good as it got in SS then I was just not a SS guy or a Magico guy.

Over the last 6 months, I have been trying multiple solid state amps as a guinea pig for Elliot, and have been truly amazed at how far SS has come over the last 5 years. All the high end SS amps I put into my system, with tons of skepticism, literally transformed my system to a new level I never knew possible as a result of Carl's bias to solid state. In any case, my tubes are gone, I am now all solid state and whether I keep my NOLAs or go the Gobels we will see but as of now, I will be the location here in the USA burning them in prior to Axpona and enjoying myself along the way.

We will be setting them up properly today although I sneaked in a listen last night and they are doing some amazing things already which I will elaborate on once fully broken in and properly setup. But their speed and upper harmonics are uncanny.

Great system(S) you have. Can I ask when you say, CH Precision "full stack" what that is? My buddy Elliot who is now the Gobels distributor is also a CH Precision dealer who is getting a "full stack" but as I learn more about CH that has different meanings and very different price points (LOL). While I cannot yet give my opinion on the Gobels speakers, I can say his cables are superb. Fantastic match with the CH Precision, the CH I know Oliver uses to showcase his speakers. I have been incredibly happy with the combination. They replaced my Nordost and I have never looked back.

Can I just say one gigantic hole in my bank account.... Deep breath P1, C1, D1, T1, L1, M1(2), and X1(2). I used Gobel cables in my previous system, loved them unfortunately sold them. I agree, excellent match for CH.

I hear you about the bank account. Awesome system. I’m in love with the M1. I’ll get hear the rest later this week as Elliot takes delivery. Yup definitely easier to say complete CH stack. Congrats and enjoy.

Will be posting more about the Gobel speakers on Wednesday but they are superb.

The M1 can be run as stereo ?

Yes. Doing it right now. It’s a very flexible amp. Can get one as a stereo version to start and another at a later time and do bridge or dual monos by just changing settings and a replaceable board.
