I found a tune on the Bela Fleck & The Flecktones - Greatest Hits of the 20th Century recording that will put your sound system, particularly your woofers to the test. It is called "Flight Of The Cosmic Hippo". I have it on my Aurender N10 music server but you can find it on Tidal if you don't own the CD. This slow rhythmic instrumental lulls you along but at about 2:24 into the recording the bass totally surprises you. I am not sure how they managed to create these super low frequency sounds from what I originally thought was an electric bass, perhaps the bass going through a sub-harmonic synthesizer. At any rate, the "Flight Of The Cosmic Hippo" sure floored me when I heard it on my Sonus faber Amati Anniversario's. I have new respect for just how deep, tuneful, and robust the Anniversario's are able to reproduce very low frequencies. I suggest you raise the volume a bit and be prepared to be surprised. This tune will have you reevaluating what your woofers and room interaction are capable of recreating.
