Friends,

I am very happy to report that Jim Smith’s book is available on Amazon. I have been working with Jim’s family to recreate the website as well which is linked below. Pam Smith and I are editing his new book Through The Sound Barrier which we hope to bring out in the next month or two. Jim had finished the manuscript before he passed away. You may have also noticed I sold a good bit of his audio gear on U.S. Audio Mart.

One favor I would humbly ask on behalf of his family. A couple of readers on amazon posted, imho, some unfair 1-star reviews of Get Better Sound which has dragged the rating down. If you have had a positive experience with the book or even good advice or setup from Jim, posting a positive review would be very appreciated. I have no financial interest in this book. I am just creating some income for his widow. Thank you.

That's great news. thanks for sharing Lee.

His book was pivotal in me getting the sound I am today.

The first book I bought when I became serious about the setup of my stereo. I continue to use his approach to begin with finding the best seating position, and his reference tracks and notes from The Chieftan's album. My later conversations with him also brought improvements in my speaker positioning and overall sound. He definitely knew his stuff and communicated it clearly.

Happy to leave a five star review on Amazon.

My wife got me a Signed copy for my birthday a couple years ago. Great book, easy to read and something for beginners to experienced tweakers.

I just posted a review on Amazon

any chance you will be fulfilling the Through The Sound Barrier kickstarter business? Whatever he did get done? I have the first book, but he never got finished/mailed out anything from the kickstarter.

Great question. Jim left a book 99% complete. Pam Smith and I are editing TTSB over the next few weeks. First, we will send an email asking for the current addresses of the campaign backers then we will send a book.
