Come rediscover the Genesis Maestro at Hifi Sound with me next week. I will be there to share music and talk design.

I first launched the Genesis Maestros at the 2017 CES. At that time, it was my most ambitious design. 10 years after taking over design from Arnie Nudell when he retired, I felt sufficiently confident to take a crack at updating his famous Genesis V. Despite the design being nearly 10 years old, it is as new and unique today as when it was first launched. Some of the design elements introduced including decoupling the speaker from the floor are being used in new designs and accessories.
The Genesis Maestro was the 6th generation of the Genesis 5-series. The cabinet was separated into 3 parts so that vibrations from the bass wouldn't affect the imaging of the high frequencies.

Many who have seen the Maestro remark that it is almost two complete loudspeakers - with 5 drivers in the front and 4 more drivers in the back. The only driver that is not on the back is the very expensive solid-titanium 4.5-inch midrange driver. This makes the Maestro a dipole in all frequencies (except low bass) and thus very similar to an open baffle loudspeaker.
Other unique features are common with other Genesis loudspeakers: ribbon tweeter and servo-controlled bass. One departure from vintage Infinity and Genesis designs is that the impedance does not dip below 3 ohms at any frequency, making the Genesis Maestros very easy to drive as the "heavy lifting" in the bass is already handled by the built-in 500W servo-bass amplifier.
