Genalex Gold Lions have taken my pre amp to another level

Brian...the only thing that puzzles me is that when you first put them in the tubes were not glowing and I think it might have been at the 20-hour mark they started to do so, albeit just slightly.

For the tube aficionados out there is that normal? I know in my set-up both the small signal tubes as well as the power tubes glow. And I know that some tubes don't light up. The weird thing that struck me in your case is that they did not do so at first and then after a while they did! Any explanations for this from anyone on AS? Just curious...

Very strange tubes indeed.

The just barely glow a little and without the lights out it's hard to see it. The Sovteks glowed pretty bright. I guess it's just the design of the tube.

First tube went Supernova this evening. A white flash as bright as the sun as the McIntosh Sentry stepped in. Easy to find which one based on the flash. Pull the tube and smell its underbelly... Lol.

That would be a first for a Russian or any currently made tube.

Perhaps I'm being a little optimistic....

And Mullards flash when you turn the equipment on.
