Paul,

A friend of mine already had a HiFi Supreme fuse, which I am using now, and replaced it with "The Supreme" Audio Magic fuse and loves what he's hearing.

Hi Newbie,

The fuse is located just above the ac cord outlet in a slide out drawer. There are 2 in there. A spare and the one in use for power surge/protection. For some reason, changing the fuse helps the sound of the music. I will post photos next week of what it looks like inside. It is very easy to change.

Hi Joe, what does the fuse do and how/where do you use it?

You know, I used to think all this witchcraft stuff was BS. Cables, isolation pods etc. But when you listen to recordings that you know like the back of your hand, and then swap out one sp. cable for another and hear the difference,it kind of changes your mind.

.... yeah & usually just after that realisation you think ah shit! :)

How do you replace the fuse? Do I have to take it to a hifi shop to get it replaced with the original? Thinking about buying the whole sweetcord, fuses, and the Pre2 when released this Friday at the same time..

You are very welcome. You do not have to open up the unit. Just pop out or gently slide out the fuse holder and replace. I just wanted to show the insides as well. Good Luck!

You got that right Kev ! I hate this witchcraft crap !!

True, I tried that new fuse route and I thanks to a electrician Audio friend of mine, I had ordered a Furutech fuse @$48.00. He said first replace the stock fuse with a like fuse, I did, best advice I ever got. Back went the Furutech.

I'm not saying trick fuses are the answer. To my ears during my experience it just didn't work out. To someones, it very well give them some improvement.

I use HiFi Tuning Supreme in McIntosh gear. Direction matters. Can you count on these when it matters most? The principle purpose of a fuse is for them to blow if there is current overload!

Soon after I purchased my 3rd MC2301 to drive a centre channel, a newly inserted HiFi tuning Supreme fuse blew. I thought, shit, I've just blown 50 bucks on a fuse. So I put another one in. No way, I've just popped another... A hundred bucks just like that. What crap is this! So back to the stocky & sure enough, it popped off too. This is bloody bullshit. So it turned out the MC2301 dropped a defective resistor & the slow blow ended up protecting the rest of the amp. I wanted to believe the exotica were faulty rather than there being an issue with the amp. Amp was repaired under warranty but I was in the hole a couple of HiFi Tuning Supreme fuses, but they did their primary function.

So these liquid nano fuses...will they really blow when you need them most?

Well Joe's fuse seemed to work fine with his Job 225 so I might just stick to that fuse and just take it to a hifi shop to have it done. At most $20.00 service charge ...
