Free Steven Wilson Sampler at Amazon

Is anyone here downloading MP3 music and listening to it even if it's free? :P

Me on occasion, almost always when it is the only form available; then I put it on my iPhone for later listening.

You won't want to bother with Steven Wilson anyway, Mark; he first recorded onto cassette when he was a teenager but soon moved to all digital recording :hey:

I would much rather hear his cassette than hear his MP3. Much better fidelity if he used a decent deck and microphone.

All of his studio work (and some of the live as well) is in 24 bit digital from the time that became available; 24/48 for awhile, and 24/96 since 2010 or so. There's also LP's of almost everything, even the cassette stuff (which was recorded on one of those 4-track Tascam semi-pro decks), although most are from digital masters of course.

Thanks for the heads up Bob.

For those who can live with MP3 downloads I highly recommend Griz as well. I can't post links but his website is at mynameisgriz. Along with three free albums, he has an entertaining version of Santana's "You a Got to Change".

He has a new album just out named "Hand. Cannot. Erase''.

IMO not a classic but like most of his work, worth a listen.
