Here is a question....

Finally got around last night to mounting a new Lyra Delos on a VPI Classic 2. Using the VPI jig the Lyra is bang on (again according to the jig) using a digital stylus gauge the tracking force is also measuring between 1.7-1.8 (as recommended by Lyra), and lastly using the Fozgometer both channels are now reading equal (after some counter-weight fine-tuning) - in other words based on all measurements everything is reading/showing correctly and it sounds great.

Now for the question....

When looking head-on at the Lyra on the uni-pivot JMW tone-arm the cartridge is tilted (read leaning) towards the left (or showing a counter clockwise lean) by a fair bit. In other words it just doesn't look right.

Although the measurements/sound is good I am thinking I have a setup problem somewhere - any ideas or just go with it?

Many thanks in advance.

I had the same problem on my classic 1 . Table was level, cart was aligned according to jmw jig properly. Azimuth was set. But it always looked like it leaned a little. Kinda drove me nuts for awhile. Then I used a test record and reset it all , in perfect accordance with the tests.
And it still looked a little tilted. I just went back over and made sure everything was set properly because with a uni pivot once you adjust one thing another goes out of whack.
Then I just went with it.
Btw the cart and table I bought together and the dealer I bought it from originally set it up. And the tilt was there when I brought it home. So I tried to reset it. But it was the same in the same position. If it's all in order I'd just go with it .
Oh congrats great cartridge!!

Thx for passing that info along Steve - greatly appreciated. And I also agree - the Lyra is a great cart. really enjoying it so far.

What you are most likely (just a guess) seeing is this.

You are SPOT on if the FOZgometer and other tests tell you it is. The lean is because the diamond tip is ever so slightly tilted in the cantilever...Just think, how small that is and how the very slightest mount tilt of the diamond would equate to seeing the cart askew.

WOULD LOVE to get my hands on a FOZGometer...just too pricey...JBL fan, you should do a ship and loan program..You break it you buy it kind of thing. Willing ?
