Formula One

We had a couple of fun races in Austria and Silverstone. However, Barcelona was parade and a boring race. Clearly, the Mercedes driven by Lewis is the best combination and a class above the rest. This is just as bad as Ferrari and Schumacher in the 2000’s.

Good to see Red Bull - Honda performing better as well as McLaren and Renault. Also exciting to see Racing Point being competitive as well - regardless of the brake duct controversy.

Sadly, the Ferrari’s are so bad they should be called “Scuderia Porky”. Not to mention that Vettel is underperforming in the worst way.

such a pity, that the rain did not come soon enough. could have been nice.

You are right, at least it would have added some excitement to the race. However, Lewis is so good on the rain, he would have still won.

You mean the car , not so much lewis is so good , IMO there are at least 2-3 drivers faster than Lewis currently ...

Would have loved some rain myself , rain is a good equalizer , Max would certainly have been able to steal another win again...

Re: Formula 1

New formula one fan here (last couple of years - didn’t know it existed until the Netflix series). It is interesting to me that Lewis and merc are so dominant, yet I still find the rest so fascinating. Wow, it would really be fun if there were competition at the top. Lewis looks like he’s just driving in a track with no one around him.

Which drivers are faster??

Williams....

Wow

Things must be worse than anyone thought for the new owners to clean house within 2 weeks of purchase and mid season.....I love this move

Who will be the new team manager?

You might be on to something. It will be interesting to watch the next season of the Netflix F1 series and see folks reactions behind the scenes.

A lot of people at Williams were naive to think it would be ‘business as usual’ after the acquisition. I’m not surprised the new owners made swift work of replacing Claire.

Even with the sentimental perspective of the Williams family, with a 7 year tenure as the team leader, it is time for Claire to move on. Williams is racing with the best F1 engine (Mercedes) but their cars have been consistently the worst in the series over the last 3 years.

Change is good. Organizations that don’t reinvent themselves eventually disappear.

Agree that change is good. But if you are the owner of the organization you can still instill change without having to relinquish that role.
What I see here a situation that affects most family-owned business: they don’t make it past the third generation (second in this case). Lots of studies and reasons why that would apply here. There is a famous write up by Peter Drucker on that.

In every interview I've seen with Claire, she really admired her dad in ways daughters usually do. Watching her fails, its evident she's neither the rainmaker or 'Indian chief' her dad was. its best for all concerned she step down, especially for the new capital partners.

If you think so and BTW Max and Danny not doing one off’s , not to mention completly being schooled at Monaco by Danny ..

Lewis is better than Vettel for sure (faux4) but not as good as the original Faux 7 (Schumacher) who had enuff epic drives to prove some worth ( can you name one epic drive by lewis ) he will never be regarded with the great same as Schumacher too many easy wins and orders for Teammates to move over , In equal cars he wouldnt be able to beat Danny ,Max or Sainz , Crap he struggled to beat Nico a midfielder at any level ..

Nope Lewis is just the new Faux 7 less than the last one, stick him inna RB and show me a win ,

Never happen as good as his car no more than ..! - Martin Brundle
