Food For Thought

Understand, but there's a whole generation to which this is new too.

True, I and I assume Toneguy to, we're just saying we just don't go out and buy the same music over and over.

Sure I can see some newbies buying the same music, but a huge majority of these newbies (the new generation) that download are walking around with their ear bugs and smartphones listening to music and being mobile instead of setting at home in a room. This new generation is so wrapped up in watching video using their tablets or playing games than listening to music.

One word Apple ....

So you are telling us that Napster didn't first change the face of the recording industry forever??? Apple like many corporations took the idea and ran with it. So now we have tons of mediocre sounding recordings.

while napster , et al changed how the business transacted, it actually aided the business you have better digital and more choices now than ever before. In reality it's the emergence of the digital small studio that changed the industry and the big labels .

Yep ........!!!

You can produce your own jingles right now from your iPhone, I just created the bastor hop bop ....

Napster aided some segments of the music market and hurt others.

I'm not sure transacted is the correct term since that in my mind implies money. Not only did Napster affect music distribution but it also made record labels superfluous and allowed for the emergence of home recording in a basement. Not to mention it brought up the question of copyright infringement.
